A $5M INVESTMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM OFFERS IN QUEBEC
The project submitted by Société des Attractions Touristiques du Québec (SATQ), under the brand Événements Attractions Québec (ÉAQ) and selected by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) involves coordinating a fund reserved for applications for financial support of $60,000 or less as part of the Tourism Growth Program.
ALL FUNDS FOR THIS PROGRAM HAVE BEEN COMMITTED.
"Événements Attractions Québec, under SATQ leadership, is very pleased about this collaboration with Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. This investment ($5M) will enable the creation of a fund to support the development of tourism offers, with the aim of increasing the capacity of regional tourist attractions, activities, festivals and events, and ultimately enhancing their appeal for visitors from outside Quebec. This new fund should make it possible to support close to a hundred businesses in the regions, thereby increasing the competitiveness of our tourism offers,"
-
François-G. Chevrier, General Manager of Événements Attractions Québec.
Objective
The objective of the Support Fund for the Development of Tourism Offers is to increase the capacity of tourist attractions and small local festivals and events, in all regions of Quebec, in a way that aims to also increase their long-term potential for attracting visitors from outside Quebec.
The primary objectives of funded projects will be to:
- increase economic benefits in outlying regions
- prolong the tourist season
- improve active tourism experiences
- bolster sustainable tourism offerings
Who can apply for the SFDTO?
The SFDTO, powered by ÉAQ, is intended for businesses and organizations offering tourism activities (activities, attractions or festivals and events) located in the various regions of Quebec, looking to request financial support in the $25,000 to $60,000 range.
In addition, the businesses or organizations that submit these projects should seek to invest in the consolidation, enhancement, diversification and deployment of their tourism offer to ultimately propose a competitive experience and a level of quality that meets the needs and expectations of tourists from markets outside Quebec.
